Small Sparrow

Simple, is the bird
that falls freely
fluttering quickly to rest
on pavement black and cracked
It would have hurt
to hit the ground
on its back. But
it thought nothing of it,
for that sublime
feathered wonder
has continued to fly
in the unfading palm.
