Smallville's Final and 10th Season '" Will We See the Costume and Flight?

David Lindberg
Superman fans of all ages will tend to check out any movie or TV show that comes along about the "Man of Steel". Members of the Baby Boomer generation grew up loving this story of their most beloved hero. Superman fans can never get enough media about Superman! In the 1950's, before there were hundreds of television channels and the special effects of today's movies, Boomers used comic books and their imagination to escape into a world where they became a part of the stories they read. There were many types of comic books and many heroic fictional characters in the 1950's, but no fictional character came close to the ultimate hero of "Superman". The Superman comic was the creation of Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster in 1932. The first edition appeared in June of 1938 and the popularity increased throughout the 1950's and the brand's popularity continues today.

For the last decade, the television series "Smallville" became the latest of these much loved and followed venues. "Smallville" began on The WB channel, as a series targeted toward a younger audience by having the story center on teenage Clark Kent and his years of learning who he truly was and was destined to become. After the 5th season, WB and UPN merged to form The CW channel. "Smallville" is the longest running comic book based series in television history. It has both fascinated long time Superman fans and frustrated them as well. The series popularity gave it the ability to be renewed for the last 10 years, but due to it's nature of centering on young Clark Kent, the series creators set a path of "no flights...no tights", and as Clark progressed in age, graduated high school and became a man, the character was not allowed to fully develop into the legendary hero, frustrating many die hard Superman fans.

It appears from the latest trailers of the new and final season, that Clark will indeed wear the suit and yes....even fly! There have slight teases of this happening over the last few years, but now, there have been actual scenes showing the suit in the first new episode.

The "Smallville" TV series has been very well written and the special effects have made this one of the best adaptations of the Superman brand over all of it's previous versions. All of the acting and scripts have been what has kept "Smallville" fans faithfully following it for the last 10 years.

"Smallville" fans will hate to see the series end, especially when they see their childhood hero become the complete character. Of course we all know that it will take until the very last episode to actually see the "flight and tights", but it will at least bring a finalization to wanting to see this version come to it's fullest potential.

Who knows...could there be a spin-off series in the works? Will "Metropolis" continue on and give "Smallville" fans more years of Super FUN?

Hair care is an overall term for parts of hygiene and cosmetology involving the hair on the human head. Hair care will differ according to one's hair type and according to various processes that can be applied to hair. All GHD Hair Straighteners hair is not the same; indeed, hair is a manifestation of human diversity.
In this article, 'Hair care' is taken to mean care of hair on the human head, but GHD Hair Straighteners should be made of process and services which impact hair on other parts of the body. Thanks for reading and commenting all! Jay-I totally agree...they need to use this last year and give fans who have hung in there the full Superman...flights and tights. I wished they would develop the series into a new one...as the full Superman..."Metropolis"

"no flight and tights" they said in the the very beginning but i don't think they imagined the show lasting this long so that might change. also, that was said by the original producers who aren't really around any more. i think its long past time he became superman, they're really stretching it out. hope to at least see him as superman in more than 1 episode. so great to see john schneider back as his dad in the season opener, always really liked him.

I wanted to give up watching many times due to the "no flights, no tights" carried on and on and on....but I kept watching...otherwise, it's always been great effects, writing and acting. Thanks for reading and commenting!

I actually gave up on this show last season, after watching it faithfully for the previous 8 years. The writing was getting stale for me, and all that Red Blue Blur stuff left a terrible taste in my mouth. The romance with Lois was rushed and they're horrible treatment of Jimmy Olsen left me flat.
I still have it set on my DVR, though. I may watch it this year to see how it ends.
