Smart Ones Teriyaki Chicken and Vegetables is a Tasty Chinese Meal

Allison West
I've never been a big fan of low calorie frozen dinners, but they have their purpose as a fast, convenient meal. I usually prefer Lean Cuisine to Smart Ones dinners, and until recently, it had been a long time since I'd sampled anything made by Smart Ones. One day I was craving Chinese and Smart Ones Teriyaki Chicken and Vegetables caught my eye in the frozen foods section at the grocery store.

I bought Smart Ones Teriyaki Chicken and Vegetables and had it for dinner, and this meal exceeded all my expectations. The chicken, sauce, vegetables and rice tasted just right, and very much like authentic Chinese food.

Smart Ones Teriyaki Chicken and Vegetables is Delicious and Filling

Smart Ones Teriyaki Chicken and Vegetables is a Weight Watchers dinner, and part of the Weight Watchers meal plan (in fact, information about Weight Watchers meetings and this meal's points value are included on the back of the box.)

Smart Ones Teriyaki Chicken and Vegetables can easily be prepared in your microwave or a conventional oven. I removed this dinner (one of Smart Ones "Bistro Selections") from the box and heated it in the microwave. The dinner consists of tasty grilled white meat chicken and vegetables like bamboo shoots, water chestnuts, carrots, broccoli and red bell peppers on a bed of white rice.

The chicken in Smart Ones Teriyaki Chicken and Vegetables is very tender and delicious. In my experience, the meat in some Smart Ones dinners used to be tough or chewy sometimes, but the company has done an outstanding job with this dinner. The Asian vegetables in Smart Ones Teriyaki Chicken and Vegetables are very fresh tasting and so is the white rice. The best part of the dinner is the spicy Teriyaki sauce that to me is just perfect. I like the fact that the sauce also has some sweetness, and isn't overly hot or too spicy.
