Smashbox "Beauty Breakthroughs"

A couple of times a year, Smashbox sells a limited edition of "Beauty Breakthroughs," brand new products that come to customers directly from their labs, complete with lab packaging. The most recent group of products came out this April.

For your beautiful eyes, regardless of their color, Smashbox introduces a palette of neutral waterproof powder shadows. They glide on like silk, blend easily, and stay where you put them (and stay even longer if you've used Smashbox's Photo Finish Lid Primer). From a very pale pink-champagne, to a dark brown liner-shadow, these colors work for anyone, and the waterproof formula guarantees they'll make it through a wedding. They're packaged with a brush.

To complete the look, there's a new mascara called "Lash Detailer" that has an angled brush. It ensures that you'll be able to reach every eyelash, even those hiding in the corners. To "top" it off, there's a new pencil form of the famous Brow Tech wax, for grooming those wayward eyebrows and keeping them in their place. This works like a charm.

If you're one of the legion of fans of Smashbox's under-eye brightening Photo Op, there's a new poured version of it, the Poured Photo Op in a small pot. You can use your fingers if you want, or put some on your hand to warm it and apply it with a brush. It works just as well as the original at brightening and "waking up" your eyes, and the new formula is light, creamy, and smooth.

If you hate powder or cream blushes, but are feeling a little pale, Smashbox introduces a cheek stain. It contains their own propriety blend of goji berry and peptides, so this creamy stain will help rejuvenate aging skin and keep young skin looking young. It comes packaged like a solid deodorant; roll it up a little and apply it to your cheeks, then blend it (quickly) with your fingers. Like the waterproof shadows, this cheek color lasts all day and will work for everyone; the stain enhances your natural color.

Love Smashbox's famous O-Gloss, the lipgloss that works with your skin to match your own lip color, and leaves your lips shining? Then you'll love the new O-Gloss Shimmer. Like the original O-Gloss, it works with the chemistry of the skin on your lips to give you a lip color that is uniquely yours, but it adds a beautiful shimmer. It also has a lovely little tingle when you put it on, and seems to have a little plumping power.
