Smashbox Cosmetics Presents in Bloom Colors for Spring

Fresh New Make-up Shades from Smashbox for a Soft, Pretty Spring Look

L. Lee Scott
The new Smashbox collection for spring 2011 is called In Bloom. It includes everything you'll need for a fresh spring look: eyeshadows, eyeliners, blush, lip gloss and artificial light powder, all in beautiful spring colors.

The eyeshadow set contains ten colors, paired up for five different looks (for those of us who have trouble putting colors together), but there's no law that says you can't do a little mix-and-match for yourself. The matte and shimmer shadow colors are Pink Lily, Lavender Grey, Golden Rose, Warm Taupe, Bone, Soft Orchid, Iris Blue, Shimmery Copper, Moss, and Nude. No matter your skin or eye color, you can't go wrong with these soft spring colors. The palette also includes an eyeshadow brush and a mirror. It retails for $48, not bad for 10 full-size eye colors. Smashbox also shows you how to do three different looks with links from this page .

Moving on to your cheeks, the In Bloom Creamy Cheek Duo has two shades, Peony, a bright pink, and Blushing, a soft pink. You can use one shade, or color and contour with both. The same links above for the "looks" show the blush use as well. These creamy colors are stay-the-day cheek stains, that give you a pretty and natural flush. The duo retails for $26. (The creamy stain character of this blush means it's not going to settle in lines and make you look older; it will make you look younger and ready for spring!)

With the In Bloom eyeliners, Smasbhox presents a new type of liner: a soft focus powder liner. It comes in two colors, Heather (gray-ish), and Dark Brown. This powder liner doesn't give you a tight line; it gives an lightly smoky look that is defined and diffused at the same time. It's not harsh, like a goth jet black pen, but a soft pretty spring look. They sell for $22 each.

Smashbox has two new shades of their popular limitless long wear lipgloss for the In Bloom collection: Endless Kiss, a soft coral, and Timeless, a pale pink. Like all of the limitless long wear glosses, these have 15 SPF lip protection, and is guaranteed to stay where you put it for 6 hours. They retail for $21 each, the usual price for the limitless line.

Finally, Smashbox gives us a new Artificial Light powder, following the success of the Artificial Light Luminizing Lotion. This shimmering powder in soft nude is the perfect highlighter for cheekbones and brow bones, and will give your winter-weary face a soft spring glow. It costs $20, and with light use (always remember: less is more!) will last a long time.

You can find the In Bloom collection at the Smashbox counter in fine department stores, in Sephora stores, and on-line at www.smashbox.com and www.sephora.com .
