Smashburger is opening its first New York restaurant in Fort Greene. The popular burger franchise will open on the ground floor of DKLB BKLN. The new apartment tower is located at 80 DeKalb Avenue between Hudson Avenue and Rockwell Place.
The location is scheduled to open in April 2011 and will probably get a good amount of business since it is on a high traffic street. It will also be right next to the hospital, LIU and Brooklyn Technical High School.
Franchise owner Jim Denburg plans to open two other Smashburgers in the Downtown Brooklyn area. You can check out the restaurant's menu here.
