'˜Smile You're Under Arrest' Airs Second Set of Stings

Smile You're Under Arrest is back for episode two and this time the felons are being tricked into being movie extras. It's a bit strange for a movie to be filming in Maricopa, Arizona but hey I guess it fooled the felons. The prank is that the targets are made to believe they are becoming extras in a movie. During the prank the "main actor" aka one of the shows real actors will be fired and the felons will be "promoted" into the star of the film. Up first was Donald Alston who, like last weeks victims, failed to appear in court. The actors was backed up by undercover deputies and all were happy for that.

Up first was makeup and dress with the targets getting dressed into a prison uniform. One of the main actors for the sting found out during the shoot that he would be in the cell with a target alone. He didn't seem too worried and it seems they are trying to build the show up as violent when it really isn't. The humor does show as they make "lock up" and prison jokes with the unknowing victim. All were asked if they were ever in jail and most said no, of course its a lie since well they have warrants for their arrest. Donald really didn't do too much other then sit on a bed at first. They tried to have him "twitch" for the scene and it just seemed awkward. They had Donald become the new "star" and said the lines pretty well, at least we know he can read. It's odd people would actually believe they were the new star of a film from one reading. During filming they locked Donald's arms to the jail cell for the scene. They actually left him in there while everyone exited, leaving him locked up for the reveal.

Following the reveal that it was a prank show they decided to release him from the handcuffs. Donald didn't take it too well that he was being arrested and seemed confused at first. It's the best "arrest" since the show started since the guy actually reacted like you thought they would: angry. With Donald behind bars another drugee turned failed to appear in court warentee Alex entered the falsehood of Smile. While the actress acting as the manager went to get Alex dressed there was a problem with the sting. Several of the producers didn't believe the guy was really their target and they were right. He told them the wrong birthday so they decided to arrest him anyway for identity theft. When the handcuffs went on the guy revealed that he wasn't Alex. He lives where the flier was sent to and tried to act as the man they were trying to target. The faker had a warrant for his arrest as well so the crew took him to jail in Alex's place. Ok maybe this show isn't too bad after all.

Following the bust of Donald and the fake Alex several others were put to through the Smile sting. All failed to appear in court and all were up for being extras. One of the girls was actually in jail thanks to Joe Arpaio and wasn't too upset about it. Others were put through some uncomfortable moments, culminating in their becoming a new Hollywood star...... well reality star at least. After all the stings were done with their acting gig it was time to place them in jail. None were too happy about that and most were "surprised" they actually had a warren. I still wish they would interview the people after they arrest them, but apparently they didn't go that far. The episode was similar to last weeks but did offer some better moments. Joe Arpaio, the sheriff for Maricopa, Arizona where the show takes place still played little roll. I guess he's there just for his name and little else.
