Smoke and Newman Exceding Expectations!

At the beginning of the Nascar Sprint Cup season I do not think anybody envisioned exactly how much success Stewart-Haas Racing (SHR) would be enjoying at this point in the season. Tony is in command of the entire Sprint Cup field sitting number one atop the points standing with teammate/employee Ryan Newman running an impressive fifth. Both have run extremely well for being a newly formed partnership and race team. These two gentleman are running as well if not better then some of Nascar's most established teams. This is the first time Tony, even after being a two time Nascar Sprint Cup Champion, has been atop the points this early in the season. Does it mean that Stewart-Haas will be the reigning King of Nascar after the checkered flag falls at Homestead on November 22nd? It is to early to make that call right now but it does make an impressive argument that Stewart-Haas Racing is definitely a contender to win each and every week and that they continue to perform like a race team that deserves a shot at the coveted Sprint Cup Championship.

After winning the All-Star race and bringing home that $1,000,000 prize SHR showed that they can and will win races. In my opinion the question is no longer will they post a victory of if they will win a points race this season. The question now is when will it happen and how many will it be this year.

Of course, success doe not always happen without some help. In this case it comes in the form of Hendrick Motorsports motors and chassis. Essentially the Office Depot #14 and the United States Army #39 are Hendrick cars just parked in a different stable. I commend SHR for being able to forge this partnership that they have going. Why not pair yourself with the best of the best from an owner standpoint? Rick Hendrick has proven that for Chevrolet racing cars he is the top dog. After all it seems to be the better your equipment the better you run. Think about that and take another look at the success of SHR.

This weekend Nascar rolls into Pocono Speedway for the Pocono 500 on TNT. Both Stewart and Newman each have one win a piece at the 2.5 mile tri-oval.
