Smoothie Recipies and a Surprise Recipe -The SmoothSicle

Summer is Coming, Here Are Some New Recipies!

Debbie

General Tips for your smoothie:

ICE: If you only have fresh fruit, but want a cold smoothie, you can add as much ice as necessary. Often frozen fruit is the main ingredient, so ice isn't needed. However, you can use fresh fruit and combine it with ice.

MILK: If you're trying to get extra calcuim, milk is a great idea. Keep in mind, this can numb the flavors. To compensate, try to add a spoon or two of frozen fruit juice concentrate.

SOY MILK: Can often taste incredible, and you're adding soy protein. Soy's been controversial lately because of horomones(but then again, what isn't?). Just be cafeful, if you add too much soy, you can create a flavor that doesn't mesh as well.

YOGURT: The type of yogurt is interchangable - try fat free, vanilla, plain, etc. This gives it texture, but make sure it doesn't take away from the flavor. You can add honey or extra sugar if it's taking away from the flavor.

EXPERIMENT: If you don't like strawberries, add rasberries. Have fun!

Fodue
3/4 cup of apple juice
1 cup vanilla yogurt
1 cup berries - strawberries, rasberries or blueberries.
1 cup berries- strawberries, rasberries or blueberries
1 cup berries (optional) add all three
2-3 Tbls sweetened cocoa
after you have blended your smoothie, you can make a chocolate ring on the inside of your cup. Just like Coffee Bean.

Razzmatic Magtastic
1- 1/2 cups OJ
1 cup frozen razberries
1 cup frozen mango chunks

Very Cherry Vanilla Berry
1 cup frozen yogurt-Vanilla
1 cup frozen blueberries
1 cup frozen cherries
1 cup apple juice

Kiwi Bikini
3 peeled Kiwi
1/2 cup frozen strawberries
3/4 cup pinapple juice
1 cup frozen banana slices (optional)

Blackberry Bahamas
1/2 cup plain yogurt
1 banana
1-1/2 cups frozen blackberries, ollalieberries or boysenberries
3/4 cup apple juice

And one more idea!! Try a SmoothSicle. It's so easy you'll be running your own mini ice cream truck in no time. Freeze your left overs in popsicle holders. It will make a delicious, healthy treat. And you won't have to waste what you can't finish. Enjoy!
