SMS: What You Can Do with Unlimited Text Messages
Having Fun and Getting the Most Out of Your Text Messages
1) ChaCha anyone?
I tried working for ChaCha sometime back, but didn't make it in. I was bummed because I thought ChaCha would be a great opportunity to make some decent cash at home. After I got over it, I started using ChaCha's free service for whatever I would normally have to pay for. ChaCha is a great service that answers just about anything - for free. They did start limiting questions to 20 per month, but I rarely get close to that number. You can use ChaCha for directory assistance, answers to things you don't have time to look up, even sports scores! Try it - just text CHACHA (242242) from your mobile phone along with your question!
2) Free Movie Rentals!
Have you ever heard of Redbox? Redbox is a new way to rent movies, comparable to a combination of Netflix and Blockbuster. It is a vending machine that is placed in many stores such as WalMart, and grocery stores all over the US. Each Rental is only $1.00 per night. Pretty awesome? I think so, but what's even cooler is if you sign up - online with your cell number - you get promotional coupons every Monday for a FREE nights rental! You have to use the promo code that Monday before 12 midnight, so it expires quick. But hey, One free movie rental, especially if you choose a new release is certainly nothing to sneeze at!
3) Personal Trainer by SMS?
There is a service provided by ExtraCon Science in which you sign up online and agree to get SMS text message reminders about when to excersice. You fill out your goals, as far as what % of the workouts you wish to complete and even get a second SMS text message after you should have completed your workout to see if you are on track or not. Pretty cool, especially for free! They send you motivating words of encouragement to help you stay on track, and you can also personalize your feedback. You can sign up here for this free service.
There are many other cool things you can get for free through SMS texting, but be weary of those "subscriptions" that promise free wall paper, ring tones and sports details as they usually plow your bill with crazy charges that were displayed at "fine print"
