Consumer Product Review

Recently, I had the opportunity to eat Smucker's Sugar Free Hot Fudge Topping for the first time and I'm very glad that I partook of the opportunity. Like all Smucker's products, this item is delicious and made with high quality ingredients.

This sugar free and fat free hot fudge topping contains 35% fewer calories than regular style hot fudge topping and is made with Splenda. Presented here, as a service to the consumer at large, is an article which reviews and examines Smucker's Sugar Free Hot Fudge Topping.

Size
The net weight of the standard sized container of Smucker's Sugar Free Hot Fudge Topping is 11.75 ounces. According to the product's nutrition facts label, the container holds nine 2 tablespoon servings.

Price
The regular retail price charged for one 11.75 ounce container of Smucker's Sugar Free Hot Fudge Topping at Hartford, Connecticut area supermarkets is approximately $2.29.

This price seems very reasonable to me. Because this is a specialized item, I would expect its price to be fairly high. The great flavor and consistency of the item and the fact that it is sugar free make this product a bargain in my estimation.

Consistency / Texture
This sugar free hot fudge topping features virtually the same consistency as many real hot fudge toppings served at ice cream parlors.

The topping is basically nice and thick and when it is briefly heated, its consistency becomes more pourable, not necessarily thinner. The topping clings well to ice cream and any other item it accompanies. Just by adding some Smucker's Sugar Free Hot Fudge Topping to plain ice cream or a piece of cake can suddenly transform the item into a special occasion type of dessert. The overall mouth feel offered by this product is quite appealing.

Taste / Flavor
This sugar free hot fudge topping really tastes like regular style hot fudge topping. It amazes me that a sugar free product can taste so much like a regular style sugar sweetened product, with no unpleasant artificial sweetener flavor present.

If you enjoy eating rich and tasty, ice cream parlor type hot fudge topping, but cannot or do not want to consume the sugar that such toppings normally contain, Smucker's Sugar Free Hot Fudge Topping will more than likely satisfy your taste buds.

On a flavor scale of one through ten, I would assign this product a rating of rating of 9.75.

Packaging
Smucker's Sugar Free Hot Fudge Topping is packaged in a sturdy, clear glass jar through which the appetizing looking fudge topping can be viewed. The attractive dark brown front label features an illustration of a scoop of ice cream topped with the product and the rear label lists all pertinent ingredient and nutritional information. The jar opens easily and also re-closes effectively.

Overall Rating
What an excellent product Smucker's Sugar Free Hot Fudge Topping is. This product is a great example of the advances in food science regarding the formulation of sugar free foods.

This hot fudge topping is very similar, almost identical, in flavor, appearance and consistency to regular style hot fudge topping. If I was served a dish of ice cream topped with this hot fudge without being told it was sugar free, I don't think I would notice the difference.

Smucker's Sugar Free Hot Fudge Topping is highly recommended by this food writer.
