Smuggled Meat from China to the Philippines Suspected of Bird Flu Virus

When Will This Stop?

Officials from the Philippine Anti-Smuggling Group (PASG) have intercepted smuggled frozen meat from China in a warehouse in Valenzuela City, Philippines. The frozen meats, including Peking Duck, goose, and different kinds of meat balls, are estimated to be worth P100 million.

What is worse is that these products are suspected of being infected with the bird flu virus. Aside from being smuggled, these products have not undergone BFAR approval. So at this moment, authorities have seized the products are having them tested.

But I wonder, when will hot products from China stop? When will the Chinese government tighten their security measures that will ensure the quality and legality of their exports? If they will not take drastic measures to stop these problematic products, it will not be long before other countries will lose their trust on Chinese made products.

I believe that the Chinese people are good businessmen. They will not allow their businesses to be ruined by bad publicity. I think that someone or some group is out to hit on the Chinese. After the Beijing Olympics, China has all the capacity to install safety measures to ensure that their export business will continue.

What is China doing now?

i hope China can redeem itself... however, as some businessmen are, as long as there's demand - chances are they will supply.
