Snap-EZ ™ products are handmade by Ruth the owner of Snap-EZ ™ , her teenage children, 10 WAHMs, one WAHG (Work at home girl!) as well as several high-school and college students who help with snapping and shipping! . (Snap-EZ ™ ). Each diaper is handmade and not sewn in a factory. The diapers are created by trained seamstresses and each one is sewn to perfection using only the highest quality materials available.
I was first introduced to Snap-EZ ™ diapers on a cloth diapering form I was on. A mother offered four Snap-EZ ™ diapers to me at a price I could not refuse. I had heard great things about the diapers and I wanted to try something new with my son. It is hard to find a diaper with a perfect fit for his skinny shaped body.
I received my diapers in the mail and tried them on my son right after they were washed. I had received medium sized diapers and the fit was better then I had ever expected on his body. They seriously seemed to be built just for my son. There are 3 (4 on the larges) double sets of polyacetal resin snaps on each side of the diaper to choose from that allow for adjusting both the leg & tummy fit separately, insuring a perfect fit on a child. )The knit PUL outside of the diaper and the microfleece inner are stretchy enough to give the diaper a huggy feel and a snug fit. (Snap-EZ ™). Stuffed with a Snap-EZ ™ insert the diaper was trim enough even under my son's jeans. . I was hooked and the diaper hadn't even been peed in yet!
After my son's nap time it was time for a diaper change. I was surprised how wonderful the diaper had held up to my son's heavy wetting even during his three hour nap! Stuffed with only one of the inserts that came with the diaper, my son was not soaked through. The diaper barely felt wet, even though the insert was completely drenched. I thought I was dreaming. I was highly impressed on how well the fleece inside wicks the moisture away from baby's skin and into the insert. My baby's bum was left dry and soft, which is a major plus for us due to the fact my son has bad eczema.
Another major plus in these diapers for us was the amazing elastic around the legs of the diaper. My son had been getting horrible red marks on his legs from some other brands of cloth diapers he had been using. With Snap-EZ ™ pockets he had no red marks left on his legs. I believe this is due to the type of elastic Snap-EZ ™ uses in their diapers. Snap-EZ ™ uses Lastin elastic in their diapers instead of normal elastic. This is the same elastic found in swim suits. It is latex free and is more gentle on baby's tender legs.
The first time my son had a bowel movement in his Snap-EZ ™ pockets was a real tester of the diaper's powers. Shaking off solids on my Snap-EZ ™ diapers was so easy. Because the inside of the diaper is fleece and not flannel, "stuff" does not stick to it and the solid materials are easily shaken from the diaper. I only had to scrap off a little poop that was sticky from the diaper before throwing it into my diaper pail. I was impressed.
After washing my Snap-EZ ™ , as I would any other cloth diaper, I had to re-stuff the diapers. Stuffing the diapers came with ease. The pocket of the diapers is wide enough for my hands to get deep into them to make sure the insert is stuffed down into the diaper properly. I had issues with other diapers having too thin of pocket, yet these are perfect! My husband can even help me stuff them, even with his larger sized hands!
The only knock I have on these diapers is the price. I recently wanted to purchase more, and I could not find any on cloth diapering boards so I went to the Snap-EZ ™ website to order some diapers. Snap-EZ ™ run more expensive then other diapers, the typical price for a Snap-EZ ™ pocket new is $16.95 for a non-print diaper and even more for one with a print. The diapers can get a little pricey. Yet, Ruth the owner offers discounts for Military and foster families and sometimes runs specials. I emailed Ruth myself to ask a question about her diapers and her customer service is beyond what I expected. She answered my question in a prompt matter and was extremely understanding and kind. She goes out of her way to help other cloth diapering parents.
Overall, I really like my Snap-EZ PUL pockets. I wish I had the guts to try them sooner. We have both prints and solids and have not had one problem at all. These are excellent diapers! I am surprised at how trim, but absorbent they are. We have added a bunch of them to our stash, no leaks, the fit is great! I HIGHLY recommend them even if you don't love pockets! You can not go wrong ordering these wonderful diapers.
