I admit I do not always take the time to prepare healthy, home made dishes for my family. My busy lifestyle prevents me from spending as much time in the kitchen as I would like. Many nights I am guilty of turning to prepacked frozen foods when getting a hot meal on the table for my family. I try to make the healthiest choices my budget will allow, and I also try to keep the reheated meals I can dinner interesting. Whenever we have frozen pizza for dinner, my family likes to have a few side dishes made by The Snapps snacks and appetizers company. Among the great varieties available we especially enjoy the Creamy Golden Mushroom Bites. This has become almost a staple with my family. In this review I will focus on The Snapps snacks and appetizers line of products, specifically Creamy Golden Mushroom Bites and Cream Cheese Jalapeño Poppers in an effort to help other shoppers with limited time and funds make an informed buying decision when considering what side dishes to purchase.

Snapps Creamy Golden Mushroom Bites are diced mushrooms, smothered in melted cheese, then dipped in a golden crumb coating. These are affordable, at around $1 per box, and each mushroom is a generous size, this makes this frozen snack item the perfect size for sharing in my opinion. Each box contains 8 mushrooms, they are not as full of calories and fat as you might guess. Each mushroom bite contains 50 calories, and 2 grams of at. This frozen food does offer protein, calcium and iron and a touch of dietary fiber. When considering all of the junk food available on the market, at least I know when I offer Snapps brand Creamy Golden Mushroom Bites as a side dish, my family is getting something other than calories out of the frozen snack. The flavor is good, these mushroom bites are filling, and they are really easy to prepare.

I personally was not as crazy for Snapps brand Cream Cheese and Jalapeño Poppers. They are not a bad product, but I think they have a slightly fruity flavor to them. No one else in my family detects that taste, so it very well could just be my taste buds. These are also a large snack item making them ideal for sharing also. They are also around $1 per box, and again each box contains 8 Cream Cheese and Jalapeño Poppers. These are also very easy to prepare, and they also have some nutritional value and they are not just empty calories. I will purchase many more side dishes from the Snapps line of snacks and appetizers. I would also recommend this brand to other people who are looking for inexpensive foods that are easy to prepare.
