Snatched

Life can be filled with disappointments especially when things don't go according to plan. Dreams get lost, goals get delayed and pretty much life throws you a few curveballs. Even with the unpredictability of life and plans going awry we can still find a way to live our dreams. Just by believing in ourselves, having faith and the strength to pursue our dreams means that there isn't anything that can take away our aspirations. I was inspired to write "Snatched" because I came to the realization that my dreams are mine to protect no matter what. When one door closes that doesn't mean it's the end...rather it means that an even greater experience is waiting behind another door. For without dreams life would just be this lackluster journey.

Snatched

My heart became a stranger
With hurried and urgent pounding
Bearing semblance of an angry lover
Beating against the rib cage

Its immediacy was shocking
Befuddled by the theft
I stumbled trying to find composure
Instead a mélange of emotions responded

Denial lasted the longest
Dreams and hopes now gone
That stolen bundle was my answer
Opportunity replaced by impossibility

Timeless and lost in darkness
My eyes grew use to nothing
Yet, a seed was planted
In my barren mind it grew

Breathing vitality into hope
And coursing passion through my veins
Hushed sounds tickled my ear
Empowered, I'm told I can move mountains

It is now I understand
The nature in which He operates
Nothing will be taken from me
So long as I believe in my worth

I found "Snatched" to be very inspiring. Never lose sight on what's really important. Stay focused and stay clear of those who don't have the same vision as you. Not only should you believe in your worth but you should operate in the value of your worth. Continue to free and expand your creativity.
