Sneak Peak Album Review of 103 by Young Jeezy

Young Jeezy is an artist they can be seen on BET at any time of the day, the reason for this is because he has achieved a lot of fame by appearing on other records for artists and this results in the splitting of each fan base. The concept is simple, if you appear on a record then you will gain some fans from each artist that allows you to appear on a track with them. He has done guest appearances with Webbie, Lil Boosie, Nas, Fabolous, Akon and Soulja Boy just to name a few. These are some of the most popular artists in the world and this has gotten Jeezy a lot of fame in the process. Young Jeezy is an artist that I first heard when I was listening to Lil Boosie and since I liked his music I decided to listen to a track that he did with Akon called Soul Survivor. This was one of the best Rap tracks that I have heard in a long time and since I enjoyed it so much I decided to check out his music. I found that Young Jeezy is one of the most popular and successful rappers in the industry today and he even recorded a track about Barack Obama titled My President which is a song that I enjoyed very much and this is the reason I decided to pre order his album 103 via his website but I thought I would listen to the CD via Youtube before the CD arrives in order to see what I would be getting when it does arrives.

The CD features 15 songs and I have a problem with this because I think the album would be a lot better if there were more songs. Also, the freestyle tracks on this CD are not his best. If they were going to use any freestyle tracks then I would have liked for them to use a track from Funkmaster Flex for example. The featured artists on this mix tape album include Boo Rossini, Gucci Mane, E-40, 211 and Weezy. The problem with this is that some of these tracks were not originally recorded for Jeezy but for the artists that are featured on the track. The result of this is a project that feels both thrown together and incomplete. I would rate this CD a 2/5 because it is not mixed well and it is short on material.
