Sneak Peak Album Review of 28th and Stonewall by Tim Barry

Rich Jones
Tim Barry is most well know as a member of the band Avai. This is a group that has sold millions of records around the world according to Billboard Charts available via their website at Billboard.com. Tim Barry has also become one of the best Country artists in the world today but the reason I enjoy his music so much is because it is different. It is Country enough to attract those that love basic Country music and it blends in elements of other genres of music. His music is Folk music at times and it spans enough emotions within every track to be considered Emo music.

This means that Tim Barry has a huge fan base because of his realistic tales of pain and suffering that the average person can relate to. I have been a fan of Tim Barry ever since I heard has song Raised and Grown on his previous album. This was a song that told the tale of a man that has suffered a lot but still finds hope in life. Because I have been a fan of his for some time I decided to pre order his upcoming album titled 28th and Stonewall but I thought it would be a good idea to listen to the CD via Youtube before it arrives in stores. I was curious how good this upcoming CD would actually be and I wanted to determine if it was worth the money.

The CD has 14 tracks and the length is about 45 minutes from start to finish. What I love about this CD is the lyrics because there is a great mix of songs that speak about his own experiences in life. They talk about suffering in his own life and other songs talk about others suffering while keeping their prospective. The song Prosser's Gabriel is one that uses this technique by telling the story of a slave through his eyes.

The song Bus Driver is another track on this CD that uses prospective to tell the story of suffering and discontent in life. What I like about this CD is that it tells a depressing story about life but manages to keep the hope in life within the album. Some songs sound like Country and others are basically Folk. This will attract a huge audience and I would say that this is probably one of his best releases. I would rate this album 4/5 because I enjoyed the lyrics. If you like artists such as Ben Nichols, Chuck Ragan, and Lucero then this CD is for you.
