Sneak Peak Album Review of in This Light and on This Evening by Editors

Rich Jones
According to Itunes Music Store, the band known, as Editors are probably the most successful Rock bands within the United Kingdom. This success and booming rise in fame came from the astronomical success resulting for their album titled An End Has a Start, According to Billboard Charts available via their website at Billboards.com this album has sold millions of copies within the United Kingdom. With the success of this CD and the rise of fame and a huge fan following of the brand they have relocated to New York. The reason that this was done was because they wise to expand their fan following and develop a fan following within the United States in addition to the millions of fans within the United Kingdom. In my opinion it is elements of bands like U2 and the Smashing Pumpkins then has contributed to their success and I believe they will be just as successful within the United States. The group includes members Chris Urbanowicz, Tom Smith, Ed Lay, and Russell Leetch and they were originally known as Snowfield. After listening to their song Bricks And Mortar via Itunes I thought it would be a good idea to listen to their new album titled In This Light And On This Evening via Youtube before it arrives in stores. I wanted to see if it would be worth the $10 price tag attached to this release.

There are 9 tracks on this CD and the total length is about 33 minutes from start to finish. This CD is more like an EP release because of the short length and that is a let down. The best way I can describe this music is very dark Rock music. If you like music that could be on the soundtrack for a movie like Coroline then you will enjoy this music. It is very dark and essentially talks about death many times during the album. The best tracks on this CD are You Don't Know Love, Like Treasure, and Walk The Fleet Road. However, my problem with this CD is that the lyrical content is repetitive. The beats are almost the exact same as their previous release and that means the release of this CD adds very little to any collection. If you like their previous CD then you will enjoy this one also. If you like this band you will also enjoy Julian Plenti, Julian Casablancas, and The Temper Trap but I would rate this 2/5.
