Sneak Peak Album Review of CMT Number Ones Volume 2 Compilation CD

Rich Jones
I can remember when I was a kid and my grandfather would listen to Willie Nelson and George Strait. I never really liked their music because it was always very depressing to me. It discussed heartbreak and hard times. The experience and feelings that come from having been in a hard situation or being in a place stuck in life. Country music has always been about pain and the feelings that come from that pain and about loss and the hurt that the loss resulted in. As a kid I could never relate to these things because I had never been through them. I figured that these were not reality and instead I listened to artists like Coolio, Weird Al and Bone Thugs.

I also listened to comedy albums by Chris Rock and Richard Prior. That was long ago and I have since grown up and would like to think I have a more diverse collection of musical favorites. In recent years I have become a lot more of a Country fan because I am able to relate to the heartbreak and troubles that Country often discusses. I am now a huge fan of artists like Carrie Underwood, Randy Rogers and Bart Crow to name just a few. I also enjoy some Taylor Swift songs because she is a very unique young talent.

For this reason I was interested in buying this Country compilation in order to find some older artists that I enjoy. I pre ordered the CD on Amazon and I thought I would listen to the CD titled "CMT Number Ones Volume 2" via Youtube weeks before the CD is available in store. This is a CD compiled by Country Music Television. It features 17 tracks all of which are number one hits. The artists featured include Reba McEntire, Tim McGraw, Rascal Flatts, Sugarland, Johnny Reid, Doc Walker, LeAnn Rimes, Emerson Drive, George Canyon and many others.

Every hit Country track of the last decade is included here from "Already Gone" by Sugarland to "Beautiful Life" by Doc Walker. What's great about this CD is that it puts all of these amazing Country singers together and if you were to buy these CDs separate you would spend probably $1000. This CD has hit after hit with no fillers, this is probably one of the best CDs I have purchased in a long time. A 5/5 rating and I suggest you pick this up when it hits stores.

Wow, to spend $1000 on 17 cd's you'd have to pay almost $59 per disc. You better find a cheaper store. LOL
