Sneak Peak Album Review of Cocky and Confident by Juvenile

Rich Jones
If you don't know who Juvenile is then you probably don't listen to music, the reason for this is the Juvenile (or Juve) is one of the most well know acts in all of music today. The reason for this is because it was him that launched the career of southern Hip Hop mega stars Lil Wayne, Baby and Mannie Fresh. Known as Cash Money Records this group of artists sold millions of records and quickly because one of the most popular southern acts ever in music. The super group The Hot Boys released the album "Guerilla Warfare" in 1999 and the career of Lil Wayne was launched with the success of sings on the CD which included "We on Fire", "You Dig", and "I Need a Hot Girl". Since then, many artists have come and gone on Cash Money and they have sold many millions of records as Lil Wayne has become probably the most famous rapper there is today. Juvenile is no longer on Cash Money Records after a dispute with Baby and Lil Wayne over money that he felt he was owed from record sales.

Juvenile has managed to keep his fame in Southern Rap though and for that reason I was very anxious to hear his new CD "Cocky And Confident" and I was able to listen to the album before it was released via Youtube. I must say, if you are a fan of Southern Rap then this is a CD that you want to pick up because it is loaded with material. It included 19 tracks of fast paced hard hitting gritty rap that Juve is know for. Featured artists on this album include Shawty Lo, Dorrough, Kango Slim, T Money, Rico Love, Q Corvette, and Youngin. This is like a super list of some of the most famous Southern Rap giants out there. The album also features Pleasure P and Bobby Valentino who are both very famous in the music industry today. For that reason along this album will do very good sales. If you have a favorite artist in Southern Rap or even RNB then he is probably features here. This makes the CD a need to pickup selection. I would rate this CD a 3.5/5 because of the good beats and good feature list. If you are a Juvenile fan then you should pick this CD up. It is worth the $10 price tag because it has good replay value.
