Sneak Peak Album Review of Concrete Jungle by 40 Glocc

Rich Jones
If you are unaware of who 40 Glocc is, then you probably do not listen to much rap, either underground rap or rap over the Internet. The good thing about this is that the Internet had created a fan base for many artists that have achieved fame by appearing on Rap DVDs such as Smack DVD and famous rap websites like WorldStar and VladTV just to name a few. 40 Glocc is a rap star from Houston, TX that has used the Internet and taken advantage of the free promotion by appearing on these sites to start beef with artists such as 40 Cal who was singed to The Diplomats (created by Cam'ron and Jim Jones) but when The Diplomats started to have internal problems this lead 40 Cal to diss artists like Lil Wayne and other artists signed to Young Money such as Tyga. Jamie Foxx has also appeared on sites like Worldstar to fire back at the way 40 Glocc attempts to gain publicity.

Well, 40 Glocc is someone that proves that beef can sell because these efforts landed him a deal on G-Unit Records which belongs to 50 Cent. This opens up the door for some great music featuring almost anyone except Rick Ross who has beef with the G-Unit label. In any event, because I am very interested in the music to come I pre ordered his CD titled "Concrete Jungle" from Amazon but before it is released I thought I would get it a listen via Youtube and let you know how the album is. To keep it simple if you like hard hitting Rap and Underground then you should pick up this CD. The features include Lil Bo, Tek, Village Boo, Tri Star, Ras Kass, Tip Toe, Yacc, Zoo Babiez, Lil Toot, Csik, Gali Gotti, Sun, Brook, Locie Loc, Kib Bib, Natural Born and Prodigy (of Mobb Deep). In total, these are 22 songs and one of these is an introduction. 40 Glocc is a unique mixture of a southern artist that uses Hardcore Rap as his method of expression. The mixture of two styles is something that I enjoy. The best songs are Spin The Globe, Another Angel Fies and 3 Amigos but there is plenty of this CD to enjoy. I would rate this CD a 3/5 and if you are a fan you should pick it up when it arrives in stores. It is well worth the time.
