Sneak Peak Album Review of Drop that 100 > by DJ Whiteowl

Rich Jones
I have loved music for most of my life and because of this I often purchased CDs that contained my newest favorite single. I would buy the CD because of that one song and hope that there was other great music on the album. However, more times than not I would be disappointed by what was on the CD because I would open it and listen only to find out that there was only one or two tracks that were worth listening to or owning. If the album was no good I would usually try and sell it to a friend or to a local used CD store but this can be costly and a waste of money. This changed when I discovered what is called a mix CD and since then I have had some great music with very little wasted money. I also love mix CDs because it allows you to listen to tracks before they are released to the public and this can be a thrilling experience. I started out buying mix CDs by DJ Clue when he would feature Notorious BIG and DMX but after a while the DJ Clue CDs started to go downhill and I discovered DJ Whiteowl. I would consider him the best DJ in music because he has exclusive songs and he features the best tracks, which makes for great music. For this reason I decided to pre order his new album titled Drop That 100via Mixunit but I thought it would be a good idea to see if I liked the product before it ships by listening to it via Youtube and I was pretty happy with the material on the CD.

The CD Features 36 tracks in total and the entire album is about 80 minutes in length. This is the problem with the CD, it is too short for the amount of songs and material on this album. Some songs include just one verse and I found this annoying because I wanted them to let the track play out. Whiteowl does a good job of mixing the tracks into one another and I do like this but there is very little variety on this mix CD and that takes away from the concept of the project. Featured artists include Lil Wayne, Jadakiss, Styles P, Sean Price, Young Buck, 50 Cent, Hell Rell, Camron, Jim Jones, Cassidy, Papoose, Cassidy, Jag, Meek Mill, Sticky Fingaz, Jojo Pelligrino, Yelawolf , Flipmode, Rampage, Pokerface, Tone Trump and Nore amongst others. I would rate this CD a 2/5 for the effort even though its missing the concept of the project.
