Sneak Peak Album Review of Gunpowder Guru by Tony Yayo

Rich Jones
Tony Yayo is an original member of the G-Unit along with 50 Cent and Lloyd Banks. Tony Yayo was placed on the backburner when he went to jail and Young Buck joined the group and began recording music that Tony Yayo would have otherwise appeared on. Tony Yayo managed to still stay a part of music by releasing music along with 50 Cent and then getting into his beefs with people such as Jim Jones and Juelz Santana. He did this by appearing in a remix of the song Ballin and putting himself into the mix of the beef. He also became one of the most important members of G-Unit when 50 Cent removed Young Buck from G-Unit in 2008. G-Unit then became tighter as a crew with 50 Cent and Lloyd Banks and Tony Yayo went out on tour across the United States along with his fellow G-Unit members. After this tour Tony Yayo worked on his upcoming album titled Gunpowder Guru. I decided to pre order Gunpowder Guru via ITunes because I have been a fan of Tony Yayo for some time. I thought it would be a good idea to listen to Gunpowder Guru via YouTube before it arrives in stores so I would know if the purchase were worth the money.

Gunpowder Guru has 10 tracks and the total length from start to finish is 27 minutes. Gunpowder Guru is supposed to be an LP release, which means that it should be full length but I found Gunpowder Guru to be quite short. It is very rare that you find a CD that is as short as Gunpowder Guru. However, I found that Gunpowder Guru is one of the best releases from Tony Yayo because of the consistent hardcore lyrics and gritty depictions of the hard life. The best tracks on Gunpowder Guru are King Of The Pyrex, Art Of War, and Top-Notch Gangsta. These tracks alone make Gunpowder Guru worth the purchase price of $5.99 and I suggest you pick it up when it arrives in stores. I would rate Gunpowder Guru 3/5 because it is a lot better than the recent releases by 50 Cent like Forever King. However, Gunpowder Guru is not as good as recent material by Lloyd Banks. So I suggest you buy Gunpowder Guru when it arrives in stores because I believe that any true fan will enjoy Gunpowder Guru.
