Sneak Peak Album Review of "Kidz Bop 17" Compilation CD

Rich Jones
Ever since the invention of the Internet I can remember the music industry executives and artists complaining about record sales. They argue that the internet causes their record sales to decline and as such lose money because of the ability for the user to hear tracks before they purchase the CD. This means that the artist can no longer trick the customer by putting one good song on a CD and putting filler material on the CD that they sell for nearly $20. I say that the internet can be a wonderful thing because it exposes people to new artists and results in the purchase of music that they would have never known about before. Also, CDs that are mixed with all popular hits on them have become more popular than ever and this is the record the "Kidz Bop" series of CDs have sold millions of albums. The reason being that there is no filler on these albums, they simply give you one CD that contains about 15 of your favorite radio station hits at the current time. Its like having your own collection of greatest hits.

The other unique thing about the "Kidz Bop" series is that the songs are preformed by kids and for kids. Although they were originally recorded by artists such as Miley Cyrus, Owl City, Pink, Kings Of Leon, Lady Gaga, Keri Hilson, and Kelly Clarkson. This album will be released at the end of January in 2010 but I was able to listen to the entire album through Youtube and I was happy with it. The songs I enjoy the most are "Use Somebody" and "Already Gone" because I recently attended a Kelly Clarkson concert and she sung both of these very nicely. I also like the "Party In The U.S.A," track which was originally recorded by Miley Cyrus. Of course, this CD is performed by kids which means the songs do not sound as they did originally, but I think that any kid 10 or under will enjoy this album because it includes a lot of hits. They will not mind that the original artists are not featured here and there is 17 songs in all which means that you are getting a lot for the money. I would rate this a 4/5 for value and also the amount of songs makes this a stand out album, pick up "Kids Bop 17" when it hits stores.
