Sneak Peak Album Review of Kings Ballad CD by Georgia Anne Muldrow

Rich Jones
Georgia Anne Muldrow is one of the most unique talents in the music industry today. The reason is because she is very talented and her music mixes elements of different genres of music. The lyrics use RNB as expression but her beats are often Jazz music. She creates unique songs about her life and childhood and mixes in old elements of some of he best Jazz music beats I have ever heard. She then puts the songs to a beautiful video that manages to develop a connection between the artist and the listener. This is the reason Georgia Anne Muldrow has such a loyal fan following and I enjoy her music very much. I first discovered Georgia Anne Muldrow after watching VH1 and enjoying her video for Roses, I decided to look her up on Amazon and I placed an order for her upcoming CD titled Kings Ballad, I thought it would be a good idea to listen to the CD via Youtube before it arrives in stores to see what I would be getting when the CD arrives in stores.

Kings Ballad includes 19 tracks and the total length is 49 minutes from start to finish. The problem with this is that a good amount of the tracks are essentially skits that have been placed on the CD to fill space. There are 10 tracks that are under 3 minutes in length and this leaves the listener wanting more. I would have liked for the songs to be longer at the expense of having less songs on the CD. In reality this CD should only be about 10 songs but the tracks are placed on to make it look like a better deal. The tracks that I enjoyed the most are Simple Advice, Doobie Down and Simple Love. However, I don't think these tracks are worth spending $10 on and I did not like any other tracks. The single Kings Ballad is a tribute to Michael Jackson that is simply boring. The lyrics seem to come from her heart but this tribute is late and lacks any true lyrical content. If you like this CD you will enjoy music by Adriana Evans, Platinum Pied Pipers, and Mayer Hawthorne. I would suggest that you save the money instead of buying Kings Ballad because there are very few songs with any replay value. I enjoyed just three tracks on this CD so I rate it 2/5.
