Sneak Peak Album Review of Normalcy by Charles Hamilton

Rich Jones
If you don't know who Charles Hamilton is then you probably don't visit popular Rap music sites like Worldstarhiphop.com which is most of the most well known Rap music websites according to New York radio station Hot 97. Charles Hamilton is a rapper that is known as an alternative to acts that are mainstream like Kanye West, Nas and Jay-Z. Charles is a young rapper that has appeared on several MTV commercials in which he is rapping during commercial breaks. Many fans on the internet know Charles Hamilton because he made a guest appearance on the DJ Green Lantern show on Sirius Radio along with Joe Budden (Of Slaughterhouse).

Chances are if you like Joe Budden then you will enjoy Charles Hamilton because he offers a rap style that is clever and not the typical violence laced raps that fans have come to accept. He is most well know for his song "Sonic" in which he compares life to an old Sega game and himself to Sonic the superhero and main character of the game. At first I thought the comparison is weird but then if you think about it life is a game and I suppose we are all just collecting money just like Sonic collecting rings in the game. In any event, I thought that he is creative and so I decided to pre order his CD "Normalcy" via his website, it will be shipping in a few weeks and I thought I would listen to the CD via Youtube and see how good the album is.

There are 13 tracks on this CD and the best songs are "Laptop Therapy", "Air Agains" and "Coodies" because the rhymes and basic and simple. They are enjoyable and I find the new samples nothing short of inspiring in terms of being creative. This album is very creative and I enjoy most of the music on the CD, it has a good amount of replay value and I suggest you pick this CD up if you follow artists like Kid Cudi, Wale, Jeremih, Drake or Maino. These artists are the future of rap and each currently has a huge following. This Hamilton CD has a decent amount of material and the songs on the CD are each lengthy and recorded specifically for this release. If you are a fan or just looking for something new pick up this release I rate it a 4/5.
