Sneak Peak Album Review of Ollusion by Omarion

Rich Jones
For those that do not know, Omarion is a former member of B2K which was an RNB group those sold millions of records according to Billboard Charts that are available via their website at Billboards.com. What made them so successful was an ability to discuss love over club beats that made good dancing music. In doing this they were able to please a group of people that listen to RNB for music that expresses real emotions and the section of people that listen to music for beats and to make them feel like dancing. Omarion also appeared on ABDC (America's Best Dance Crew) on MTV and become very well known as a great dancer. Omarion also has recorded tracks with artists like Missy Elliot, Lil Wayne, Bow Wow and Talent Couture just to name a few. Eventually Omarion because too famous for his fellow B2K members and he went solo. The group broke up much like Dru Hill did and Omarion started recording with Bow Wow and I liked that match a lot so I decided to pre order his album titled Ollusion at my local Target and I wanted to listen to the album via Youtube before the album arrives. This was intended as a birthday present for a family member and I wanted to see if it was good enough to give as a gift or not.

This album has 11 tracks in total and the number of tracks as well as the length of the album disappointed me. This CD has 11 tracks and it is about 40 minutes in total. This is basically the same length as an EP and many fans have been waiting over a year for thi album so I thought it should have been longer and included more material. The song with Missy Elliot is not on the CD but the featured artists include Marques Houston, Jay Rock and Gucci Mane, The problem with this album is that songs like Hoodie and I Think My Girl Is Bi give off an immature feeling that I couldn't shake. They also show that Omarion has shifted his approach from soulful songs to tracks that are heavy on beats and tempo. He is aiming for the radio and it shows on this CD, this project feels incomplete because the different songs don't mix well and he should have more features on the CD. I would rate this a 2/5 and I see why he got released from Cash Money Records
