Sneak Peak Album Review of Pure Urban Essentials Compilation CD

Rich Jones
One of the things that I enjoy most in life is music and I love all types of music. I can remember listening to urban music and I have been surrounded by urban music for as long as I could remember. I love RNB music and I also love Rap music that sounds like RNB because of the content of the music. I like the feeling of music that you can play around anyone because it lacks the hardcore elements that so many people dislike. I also find that my girlfriend loves the same type of music. The problem is that I have collected a lot of this type of music during the last decade but when I switched to CDs I lost all of my material. I have all of my favorite songs on tape but I wanted an essential urban music collection that included some of the best music ever released by some of the best artists ever. This is the reason why I decided to pre order this album titled Pure Urban Essentials via Amazon but I thought I would listen to this CD via Youtube to see what I would be getting when the album ships.

Pure Urban Essentials comes with 2 CDs and the first includes 21 tracks, as does the second CD. The first CD is 76 minutes in length and the second is 78 minutes in length. The album features artists like Ironik, New Boyz, Music Soulchild, Sean Paul, Gracious K, Faith Evans, T-Pain, Day 26, Sunshine Anderson, Aaliyah, Alicia Keys, Alesha Dixon, Jason DeRulo, Ciara, Craig David, Cassie, Brandy, Kano, Pleasure P, Ginuwine and Mc Lean just to name a few. The best songs on this CD are Feels So Good, Last Chance, You're A Jerk, and Oopsy Daisy but there is plenty of great songs on here. All of these songs are hits and this means they offer something for everyone. The collection is so large that almost anyone will love this CD. However, I think the CD has too many tracks and could easily be reduced to a single CD instead of a double CD. But because there are so many artists on this CD the amount of artists will bring a lot of sales for the project. I would rate this CD 3/5 because it had a lot of material but it feels like some artists are included just to gain sales of the project.
