Sneak Peak Album Review of RNB by Fabolous

Rich Jones
According to Billboard via their website Billboard.com Fabolous has been one of the most successful commercial rap artists of this decade. The reason for this is very obvious in my opinion, he was the first rap artist signed to DJ Clue's Desert Storm Records and this meant that he received a lot of exposure on MTV which was the network that hosted the DJ Clue TV show. His debut his titled "Ghetto Fabolous" was released in 2001 and featured such artists as Nate Dogg, Ja Rule, Lil Mo, The Neptunes and Jagged Edge.

It was an amazing CD and this launched Fabolous to super stardom but this was something that seemed to hault until Fabolous signed with Def Jam Records and released his album "From Nothin' to Somethin" in 2007 and this project featured Timbaland, Swizz Beatz, Lil Wayne, Remy Ma, Young Jeezy and T-pain. The result was an album that sold 500,000 copies according to Billboard.com. This shows that since the beginning Fabolous was a success as a Def Jam artist and his track "Make Me Better" which featues Ne-yo which one of the best and hottest songs of the year in my opinion.

For this reason I have been a fan of Fabolous every since 2001 and I decided to order the album titled "RNB" via his website. This album is what is known as a mixtape and I thought I would review the album and let you know my thoughts before the project is released.

The CD features 31 tracks which are a total of one hour and 20 minutes so each track is pretty short. The CD features artists including Janet Jackson, Drake, Danity Kane, Jennifer Lopez, Amerie, Jadakiss, Rihanna, Ne-yo, Ludacris, Jamie Foxx, Tamia and J Holiday to name a few. This CD includes some amazing music from Fabolous but the length is so short that you can't enjoy the whole song, some songs just have the verse with Fabolous on it and that takes away from the project.

The selection and large numbers of songs here is what makes the CD good because if you are a fan of Fabolous then this is a project that you need to get. This album is mixed by DJ Finesse and the mixing is done well but I wish the tracks were all entire songs. Still, this is a good CD I would rate it a 3/5 and suggest you pick up
