Sneak Peak Album Review of The Sea by Corinne Bailey Rae

Rich Jones
Corinne Bailey Rae is a British singer and songwriter who recorded her first album in 2006. The album titled Corinne Bailey Rae went on to sell millions of copies according to Billboard Charts available via their website at Billboard.com. Corinne Bailey Rae was named the breakout artist of 2006 in a BBC poll based on viewer opinions. She is the fourth British artist to have her album debut on the top of the Billboard Charts according to her website. This probably would make many people compare her to the Spice Girls but has a lot more talent in my opinion. Corinne Bailey has a soothing voice and she plays the guitar on her records. This is what makes her music unique and for this reason I decided to pre order her album titled The Sea via Amazon. I thought it would be a good idea to listen to the CD via Youtube before it arrives in stores to see what I would be getting.

The CD has 11 tracks in total and the length is about 45 minutes from beginning to end. Most of the lyrics discuss her husband and the love that they once shared. I find this a touching concept that she would want to discuss someone she loved on a record. I just find the whole concept of this record touching and her voice is very soothing. The best tracks on this CD include Are You Here, The Blackest Lily, and Love's On Its Way. These are my favorite songs on the CD but I think that the entire project is worth listening to. If you like this CD you will also enjoy music by Jamie Cullum, Maysa, and Kim Waters. I think this CD is very much worth the $10 price. It is a great experience that I would suggest for anyone looking for a great RNB CD. If you are looking for a great artist that sings from the heart then this should be the CD for you. While the CD suffers from a shortage of material, I find that the material included on this CD is well worth the money. This is probably one of the best releases that will be produced this year. This is pure music from her soul and released for the enjoyment of the fan. Pick this one up and you will find that you enjoy the songs of a lost love as much as I did.
