Sneak Peak Album Review of Songs for Reggae Lovers 3 by Various Artists

Rich Jones
Ever since I was a child I could remember my uncle always listening to Reggae music. I never quite understood his love for Reggae music but he would always try to get me into the popular artists that he was listening to. He would tell me about how they have sold millions and millions of records according to Billboard Charts available via their website at Billboard.com but there wasn't anyone like Bob Marley to me. I also love Sean Paul and I can't argue with the success that he has enjoyed within the music industry. However, to me he is basically Reggae for those who like Rap because his music is a mixture of both musical forms. This makes it inclusive and easy to enjoy so I find that he is one of my favorite Reggae artists. Since my uncle has loved Reggae for most of his life I decided that I would order him a new Reggae CD for his birthday. I decided to look at the upcoming Reggae CDs via Amazon and found this CD titled Songs For Reggae Lovers 3. I thought this would give him a good mixture of the best Reggae artists in one CD. I decided to listen to the CD via Youtube in order to see if the CD was worth buying before it arrives.

The CD includes 30 tracks all in total and is broken into a two CD release with 15 tracks on each CD. The total length of the entire project is 113:13 from start to finish. While this may seem like a lot of material it basically means that one CD is less than half full. What I did like about this CD are the artists that are featured. These artists include Sugar Minott, Gappy Ranks, Tarrus Riley, Beres Hammond, Wayne Wonder, Freddie Mcgregor, Cocoa Tea, Gregory Isaacs, Fantan Mojah and many others. The best tracks on this CD are Substitute Lover, Where Is The Love, and Love Grows. But I was able to listen to this CD from start to finish without skipping any tracks and I didn't expect that. If you are a fan of this genre of music or you are looking to sample it then this is a great CD. It is a great collection of music that I would rate 4/5 for the amount of material and the replay value offered by this release.
