Sneak Peak Album Review of Superstar Christmas RNB Compilation CD

Rich Jones
I often shop at Target in the music section because they tend to have some unique CD selections that you would never consider buying anywhere else. I am sure that you could find the same things on Ebay, Amazon, Best Buy or any other retailer it is just what I choose to do. They have a pre order list of upcoming CD packages for special edition CDs and so I pre ordered the CD titled "Superstar Christmas" and sadly the item has not shipped yet so I thought I would get the CD a listen through and review via Youtube before it arrives in stores in order to tell you if it is worth the money or the purchased and your hard earned cash.

The CD is a compilation and twist on the classic Christmas songs, if you are the type of person that loves modern day cheerful music then you will enjoy this one. The reason is that each artist sings a classic American Christmas song but does so in their own unique way with an amazing voice. The CD features John Legend, Baby Face, R. Kelly, Monica, Aritha Franklin, Keshia Chant, Jacksoul,Whitney Houston and Toni Braxton. This is a collection of artists that have sold over 100 million records with their respective releases according to the Billboard sales charts available at Billboard.com. It sounds like a number one list of RNB but I wish that Chris Brown was included in the track list.

As for the content there are just 10 songs which I wish were more because I enjoyed the ones on the CD. The best of these are "Do You Hear What I Hear?" sung by Whitney Houston and "World Christmas" sung by R. Kelly. I also enjoyed the song "Let It Snow" sung by John Legend. I am glad to see that both Kelly and Legend have that spark in their voice. They create magic on this CD and that is the true spirit of any holiday song. The length of this CD is about 38 minutes which says to me that it was thrown together. There is no reason why it shouldn't include some artists like 112, Usher, Britney Spears, Lady Gaga, Chris Brown or someone that sings a more progressive RNB to bring in a different crowd. I would rate this a 3/5 because it could have and should have been longer, I suggest you pick up this CD when it is released because it is worth the money.
