Sneak Peak Album Review of Unbreakable by Saving Grace

Rich Jones
In the 1990's the most popular genre of music was what was known as Gangsta Rap, although other musicians such as Kirk Franklyn and Yolanda Adams were able to achieve fame and success by performing exactly the opposite form of music. Instead of singing about violence then sang about God and being spiritual. They discussed the Bible and a better way of life. They provided hope for the listener and each of these artists sold millions of records. Sure, they did not sell 10 million records like 2pac or 13 million like Jay-z but spiritual music emerged in the 1990's as an alternative to Gangsta Rap and became quite popular with millions of listeners.

In the 2000's Gospel and Spiritual music has become even more popular than ever. In fact, I would say that this genre of music is a lot more popular than Gangsta Rap is today. As an example of this is the band called Saving Grace. This was a band that was formed in a garage in New Zealand in front of 20 fans. They quickly become one of the most popular Spiritual Bands in the word. They have toured across Europe and Asia headlining show after show. Their music has become so popular that they have signed multi national recording deals and their material has constantly receive 5 stars from critics. What makes this Spiritual Music so unique is that their content fuses hardcore and metal with an inspirational theme. I was able to listen to their new CD titled "Unbreakable" via Youtube, it will be released in the middle of January of 2010 on Strike Force Records.

The CD includes 12 tracks of amazing music, the topic is basically the same throughout the entire project. The topic discussed is trials and inspiration, it talks about love for God and love amongst each other and the strength that comes from that love. The vocals are a mix between Britney Spears, Madonna, Celine Dion Jordin Sparks in her smash hit "Battlefield". There is nothing like an amazing voice to drive lyrics home and each song drives home the word of God. This is a CD that has 12 great songs, because it will bring you joy and give you hope and that is music worth the money. I would rate this CD a 4/5 because it isn't perfect but the millions of fans that love Kirk Franklyn and Yolanda Adams will love this musical mash up release.
