Sneak Peak Album Review of "Unleased" by Hurricane Chris

Rich Jones
One of the best gifts you could get someone for the holiday is a CD, the reason for this is that in this economic downturn it is not very expensive and also the person can use the music to escape from the problems that they have. Since everyone is having money problems with the economy music is a timeless gift. That is the reason why there has been so many CDs coming out this holiday season. From Eminem, Lil Wayne, Young Money, Gucci Mane and many others. It seems almost everyone except DMX has a CD this holiday season. One southern rap superstar who has an upcoming CD is Hurricane Chris. Although you many have to wait until the end of the year to pick this one up, this artist had one of the most popular and successful songs on 2009 with the track "Halle Berry". Not genre of rap is more popular than southern rap and ever since the year 2008 Hurricane Chris has been one of the most popular southern rap stars in the music industry.

For this reason I pre ordered his CD titled "Unleashed" from Amazon and I was very anxious to hear it so I gave it a listen via Youtube and I was amazed at the content of the CD. The CD has just 10 tracks which was a disappointment to me, I would have liked more tracks included on this CD. However, what is amazing is the production on this CD, the beats are done by Mouse, Inkredibles, Rodnae, Fiend, Vito, Shawty Redd, and Phunk Dawg. While each of these beats are great I find the lyrics are often bland and repetitive and void of content. However, the feature list on this album is amazing, it includes features by Superstarr, Bobby Valentino, Fiend 4 Da Money, Cherish,Beanie Man, Mouse, Mario & Plies.

The best songs include "Coke Bottle", "Last Call" and "Secret Lover", southern rap is never about the lyrics and in that sense this CD doesn't let you down. The beats are great and the production makes the songs. There is a lot more to listen to here than "Halle Berry" but that is what made me want to pick up this project. It doesn't have many songs but this CD is entertaining and has a lot of replay value. I would rate it a 3.5/5 and I would say it is well worth the money.
