Now that may sound like a lot of material, but when you consider the 10 year time span you see that not much great Gangsta Rap material has been release. The reason for this is because the record labels tend to hold back up and coming artists like Papoose and push artists with softer songs such as Fabolous and Kanye West. If you love Gansta Rap then you probably know that the last great release was "The Kiss of Death" by Jadakiss. That was I was able to hear the "Uzi Does It" CD by Get Busy Committee.
If you have never heard of this band then you must be under a rock somewhere, the group includes members Apathy and Ryu. Their material is raw and hardcore much like Kid Frost and Cypress Hill. The lyrics are hardcore as expected and include drugs and violence as with most Gangsta Rap albums. Their videos include depictions of street life in ground breaking and realistic ways that is something you should see along with the content of the CD. The lyrics sound much like a mix between Linkin Park, Korn , Cassidy, Joell Ortiz and Fat Joe. If you like Slaughterhouse then you will enjoy this group, a lot of their material also talks about politics and conspiracy theories much like those found on a Dead Prez CD. If you love music of this from then be sure to pick this up. The CD features 14 tracks and only includes one feature by Chevy Jones.
While the lyrics are sold I didn't enjoy the beats because they reminded me of a Wii game like Super Mario or Wii Fit. While the content is amusing I think it gets repetitive to listen to over and over which means it has very little replay value. So the question is should you buy this CD when it arrives in stores? I say if you are looking for a good Gangsta Rap CD then pick this one up, the beats suck but the lyrics are good. I would rate this a 3/5 and it is well worth the $10 price tag.
