Sneak Peak Album Review of "V5" by Lloyd Banks

Rich Jones
Lloyd Banks is a rappers and member of 50 Cents G-Unit group which was originally signed to Shady Records and Aftermath. Basically under a contract and joint venture between Eminem and Dr. Dre. The first time I ever heard Lloyd Banks was on a 50 Cent album (known as a mixtape) titled "Guess Who's Back" in 2000. The group at that time included Tony Yayo, 50 Cent and Lloyd Banks but Young Buck and The Game were later added as members. Lloyd Banks also appeared on the G-Unit album titled "Beg For Mercy" in 2003. The Game was later removed from G-unit after some beef with 50 Cent and The Game sided with Jay-Z, Fat Joe and Jadakiss who were all known rivals of 50 Cent. After Young Buck also sided with 50 Cent's enemies he was also removed from the group. However, Lloyd Banks, 50 Cent and Tony Yayo remain in addition to DJ Whoo Kid (who has his own large following on Serius Radio. Lloyd banks has also been known for his beef with Slaughterhouse member Joe Budden. However, that beef has long been gone and G-Unit still continues to make hits. Since I have been such a long time fan I decided to pre order this CD via 50 Cent's website but I thought I would listen to the album before it was released via Youtube and let you know what I think of the entire CD.

The CD titled "V5" is an album which is known as a mixtape, it features 17 songs and all of the songs are in full form. The beats are original and done especially for this album so you can tell a lot went into this album. The best songs on the CD are "We Remain", "Power Pack", and "The Escape" which features fellow G-Unit member Tony Yayo. They appear here in rare form as if the song was written for "Beg For Mercy" or "Get Rich or Die Tryin" (50 Cent's first solo CD). These two albums were very successful because of quality beats and great lyrics over some unique beats. All of the elements are here also, this CD has a lot of replay value and I enjoy almost every one of the songs. The break is over for G-Unit and Tony Yayo shines on this album. If you love G-Unit you should pick this up I would rate it a 4/5.

I was expecting an actual review of this mixtape, not an inaccurate history of the G-Unit group/label. Game sided with Jay-Z against 50? I don't think so. Game is always trying to start a battle with Jay. Anyway, you only talk about V5 at the end of the blog - where's the depth?
