Sneak Peak Album Review of "We Are Young Money" by Lil Wayne and Young Money

Rich Jones
In the world of rap it seems like there is always a group that has been on top of the world, so much so that nothing they do can be considered wrong. This is the case in life where every person has their 15 minutes of fame also. However, in rap there is always a record label or group that is basically pushing Hip Hop music forward with a cult following. This started with Run DMC and included groups like Mobb Deep, Roc-a-Fella, Ruff Ryders, G-unit, The Diplomats, D-Block and now Young Money. Southern rap artists are some of the most popular in music today and with Lil Wayne quickly becoming one of the biggest stars in the world his group has developed a cult following that defies the word cult because their fan following is about 5 million people. It includes everyone from the cheerleader, to the little kid to older ladies that love to listen to Wayne's space-age lyrics and voice.

The group includes Lil Wayne, Gudda Gudda, Jae Millz, Mack Maine, female superstar Nicki Minaj, who has millions of followers on her twitter page. It also includes Lil Chuckee and Hip Hip prodigy Drake. Any album which includes Drake and Lil Wayne is sure to sell records and generate interest and because of this I wanted to preview the Young Money album titled "We Are Young Money" and see if this will be worth picking up when it arrives in stores. I was able to listen to the entire 15 track album on Youtube and the album is very good by any measure. The features on the album include Shawt Dawg, Birdman, Gucci Mane, and Lloyd. The best songs on this album include "Wife Beater","Pass The Dutch" and "Play In My Band". The album includes a good mix of Hip Hop and RNB music forms. The melody is great and the CD is blended well so that the listener gets the best of both worlds. The CD isn't just gangster rap but some Hip Hop and RNB blend with gritty lyrics that any fan will enjoy. If you love Drake then you should pick this album up, I would rate this album a 3/5 and I suggest buying it because it is well worth the money. The songs have a decent amount of replay value and any new Lil Wayne project is worth at least listening to
