Sneak Peak Album Review of Y Not by Ringo Starr

Rich Jones
Ringo Starr is a drummer of The Beetles and he has become well known for his skill and position within the group. The Beetles were the group that created a revolution within Pop music in the United States and all across Europe. It is because of them that we have Pop music for what it is today. Before The Beetles it was unheard of to express love or hardships in such a vocal way and it is because of them that we have Pop and RNB for what they have to offer today. Millions of records were sold by The Beetles according to Billboard Charts available via their website at Billboards.com and this was because of the fact that they created music outside of the bounds of the expected norm and people liked it because they felt that they were taking part in something new. People wanted the Beetles to be a success because of the feelings their music created and that is what made them different than all other bands. Ringo Starr wasn't always a part of The Beetles but he joined when their former drummer Pete Best was removed from the band. I have always love the music Ringo makes and because this was the first album that he wanted to take a chance and produce his own music I thought it would be a good idea to pre order him album titled Y Not via Amazon but I thought I would listen to the CD via Youtube before the CD arrives in stores to see if it was worth the money.

The CD features 10 songs and the length is about 36 minutes in total so I was disappointed that the CD was so short. However, the content on the CD is amazing if you are a fan of Ringo or The Beetles then you need to pick this CD up. The best songs are Walk With You, Everybody Wins, and Peace Dream, which is done with Paul McCartney and it, reminds me a lot of the old hits by The Beetles. This album is done with the help of Dave Stewart, Steve Dudas, Benmont Tench, Don Was, and Mike Bradford. The album includes appearances by Joss Stone, Ann Marie Calhoun, and Ben Harper. The album will feel like a blast from the past for any old fan of The Beetles but he is inclusive of new musical artists also. This is the best solo Ringo Starr CD and will become a true class and I rate it a 5/5.
