Sneak Peak Album Review of Youngest in Charge by Wiz Khalifa

Rich Jones
Wiz Khalifais an artist that has a fan base of millions and the reason for this is because he makes great music. He invented a style of music that is knows as Pittsburg Rap and he did this by mixing forms of hard hitting New York Rap and blending it with the laid back style that made Southern Rap so famous. Southern Rap is some of the best selling music today and Wiz took this into consideration when creating his style. The truth test of a successful artist is the ability to morph with the times and also sell records and Wiz Khalifa has done both of there. According to the Billboard Charts available via their website at Billboards.com Wiz was one of the most successful artists of 2009. He also reached number one on the Itunes Store with his mix tape titled Deal or No Deal and with good reason. The album was very well put together and included hits like Hit tha Flo, Studio Lovin, and Superstar just to name a few. This landed him so guest appearances with artists like Drake, Curren$y, Young Keno, Mac Miller, The Finest, Jeremih, Soulja Boy Tell Em, and Green Lantern. I decided to pre order his new CD titled Youngest In Charge via Mixunit but I wanted to listen to the CD via Youtube before it arrived so I would know if it would make a good gift.

There are 27 tracks in total on the CD and the length is about 72 minutes from start to finish. This means that the CD is packed with material but some of the songs are cut short which is annoying because it takes away from the quality of the CD. Also, there is too much material on here that does not belong because it takes away from the purpose of the CD and that should be to showcase his talent. He has plenty and some of the songs on this CD do not show that at all. The best tracks on this CD are So High, Smoker Face and Car Service but I think the problem with this CD is that there is just too much talk about weed and a lot less focus on everything else. I would rate this CD a 2/5 because it fell short of previous releases. There is too much material on here and the lyrics get repetitive.
