"All About Steve"

Stars include Sandra Bullock, Thomas Haden Church, Bradley Cooper, Ken Jeong, DJ Qualls, Katy Mixon, and Howard Hesseman. It is directed by Phil Trail. Here, a CNN cameraman is stalked across the country by a brilliant but eccentric woman who loves crossword puzzles. This 20th Century Fox comedy is rated PG-13. Previously announced release date was March 3, 2009.

"Carriers"

Stars include Chris Pine, Piper Perabo, Christopher Meloni, and Lou Taylor Pucci. It is directed by Alex Pastor and David Pastor. Four fleeing friends soon realize they are much more dangerous than any mere virus. This Paramount Vantage horror/thriller is rated PG-13.

"Extract"

Stars include Ben Affleck, Jason Bateman, Clifton Collins, Jr., Mila Kunis, and Beth Grant. It is directed by Mike Judge. A flower extract plant owner deals with workplace issues and his wife's affair with a known gigolo. This Miramax Films comedy is Not Yet Rated and is scheduled for limited release.

"Gamer"

Stars include Gerard Butler, Michael C. Hall, John Leguizamo, Kyra Sedgwick, and Zoe Bell. It is directed by Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor. Ken Castle's game, "Slayers," allows one to act out their most savage fantasies online in front of a global audience, while using real prisoners as avatars, whom they fight to the death. This Lionsgate action/sci-fi/thriller is rated R.

"Pandorum"

Stars include Dennis Quaid, Ben Foster, Norman Reedus, and Cam Gigandet. It is directed by Christian Alvart. Crew members wake up with no memory of their mission or their identities. This Overture Films sci-fi/action/thriller is Not Yet Rated.

"Shanghai"

Stars include John Cusack, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, and Nicholas Row. It is directed by Mikeal Hafstrom. Here, an American spy is entangled in intrigue and romance in 1940's Shanghai. This Weinstein Company drama/romance is Not Yet Rated.

"9"

Stars include Elijah Wood, Jennifer Connelly, Martin Landau, Christopher Plummer, and John C. Reilly. It is directed by Shane Acker. On 9.9.09, Tim Burton's film takes you to a place where 9 comes to life, only to find himself in a post-apocalyptic world. In this strange ne w world, all humans are gone and a small community of others just like 9 continue to hide from fearsome machines that roam the earth intent on their extinction. This Focus Features fantasy/animation is rated PG-13 and is scheduled for limited release.

"Beyond A Reasonable Doubt"

Stars include Michael Douglas, Amber Tamblyn, and Jesse Metcalfe. It is directed by Peter Hyams. This classic remake of Fritz Lang's 1956 RKO dark and ominous drama centers on ambitious young journalist, C. J. Nichols. Here, Nichols investigates a corrupt district attorney, by setting himself up as a murder suspect. This AfterDark Films thriller/drama/remake is rated PG-13 and is scheduled for limited release.

"Tyler Perry's I Can Do Bad All By Myself"

Stars include Tyler Perry, Taraji P. Henson, Brian White, and Gladys Knight. It is directed by Tyler Perry. Looks like, Madea is at it again! This time, she catches 16-year-old Jennifer and her two younger brothers looting her home. Of course, she decides to take matters into her own hands! She delivers the delinquents to the only relative they have, Aunt April, a heavy drinking nightclub singer, who lives off Raymond, her married boyfriend. This Lionsgate comedy is rated PG-13.

"Whiteout"

Stars include Kate Beckinsale, Gabriel Macht, Alex O'Loughlin, and Tom Skerritt. It is directed by Dominic Sena. Carrie Stetko, a lone U. S marshal, tracks Antarctica's first serial killer. This Warner Brothers thriller/drama/crime is rated R.

"Armored"

Stars include Columbus Short, Matt Dillon, Laurence Fishburne, and Jean Reno. It is directed by Nimrod Nolasco. A guard for an armored truck company is convinced by his veteran co-workers to steal a truck containing $10 million. This Screen Gems crime/thriller is rated PG-13.

"Bright Star"

Stars include Ben Whishaw, Abbie Cornish, Paul Schneider, and Kerry Fox. It is directed by Jane Campion. Here, John Keats, a 19th century poet, has a three-year secret love affair with Fanny Brawne, until his death at age 25. This Pathe romance/drama is Not Yet Rated.

"Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs"

Stars include Bill Hader, Anna Faris, Andy Samberg, and Mr. T. It is directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller. A scientist, trying to solve world hunger, encounters a bigger problem, when food suddenly begins falling from the sky. This Columbia Pictures 3D comedy/animation is Not Yet Rated.

"The Informant"

Stars include Matt Damon, Scott Bakula, Joel McHale, and Tom Wilson. It is directed by Steven Soderbergh. Based on evidence submitted by their star witness, vice president turned informant, Mark Whiteacre, the U. S. government goes after an agri-business giant with a price-fixing accusation. This Warner Brothers thriller/comedy/drama is rated R and is scheduled for limited release on September 18, 2009 and for wide release on October 9, 2009.

"Coco avant Chanel"

Stars include Audrey Tautou, Benoit Poelvoorde, and Alessandro Nivola. It is directed by Anne Fontaine. This is about the life and famed French fashion designer, Coco Chanel. This Sony Pictures Classics biography/drama is rated PG-13.

"Jennifer's Body"

Stars include Megan Fox, Amanda Seyfried, Johnny Simmons, and Adam Brody. It is directed by Karyn Kusama. A cheerleader with a perfect life becomes possessed and begins killing boys in a small town. This 20th Century Fox comedy/horror/thriller is Not Yet Rated.

"Love Happens"

Stars include Jennifer Anniston, Aaron Eckhart, Martin Sheen, and Judy Greer. It is directed by Brandon Camp. Here, a widower, who book about coping with loss turns him into a best-selling self-help guru. But, when he goes on a business trip to Seattle and falls for a woman, he soon realizes he hasn't dealt with the loss of his own wife. This Universal Pictures drama is rated PG-13.

"Splice"

Stars include Adrien Brody, Sarah Polley, David Hewlett, and Stephanie Baird. It is directed by Vincenzo Natali. Here, two young scientists achieve fame by splicing human DNA with the DNA of different animals to create a totally new creature. This Senator Entertainment thriller is Not Yet Rated and is scheduled for limited release.

"The Boys are Back"

Stars include Clive Owen and George MacKay. It is directed by Scott Hicks. In tragic circumstances, a sports writer becomes a single parent. This Miramax Films drama is Not Yet Rated and is scheduled for limited release.

"Fame"

Stars include Thomas Dekker, Kristy Flores, Paul Iacono, and Paul McGill. It is directed by Kevin Tancharoen. In this 80's remake, a group of talented young people overcome incredible odds to gain acceptance to an elite New York public high school for the performing arts. Debbie Allen, Charles S. Dutton, Kelsey Grammer, Megan Mullally, and Bebe Neuwirth are the instructors. and This MGM musical/drama/remake is Not Yet Rated.

"The Invention of Lying"

Stars include Ricky Gervais, Jennifer Garner, Rob Lowe, and Patrick Stewart. It is directed by Ricky Gervais and Matthew Robinson. Mark Bellison is a loser who can't get a date, can't hold a job, and is facing eviction from his apartment. That is until he tells his first lie. This Warner Brothers comedy is rated PG-13.

"The Surrogates"

Stars include Bruce Willis, Ving Rhames, James Ginty, and Boris Kodjoe. It is directed by Jonathan Mostow. Here, humans live in isolation and interact through surrogate robots. A cop, through his surrogate, investigates the murders of others' surrogates and is forced to venture from his own home for the first time, while unraveling a conspiracy. This Touchstone Pictures sci-fi/thriller is Not Yet Rated.

    Wow, you really like movies, don't you? I really need to get to the theater more often. That one about the woman who likes crosswords sounds like me. I'll spend an entire Sunday doing the NY Times puzzle. Thanks for this. I'll look out for some of these.
