Sneak Peek Album Review of Another Round by Jaheim

Rich Jones
Jaheim is a classic RNB artist if there ever was one in the music industry. Jaheim is a lot like R. Kelly except without the Rap infused music. He is a lot like Jagged Edge but without all of the Hip Hop infused music and with less love. Jaheim makes music that is pure RNB in the sense that it is about love and treating his girlfriend right. However, it doesn't go too far with the emotions. It is about finding a balance between style and the expression of feelings for another. The reason I love Jaheim is because he makes genuine music that I would love to write if I knew how. It is usually about discussing love but not going overboard and doing too much so that it loses appeal. I find that females love his music too because my girlfriend has been a fan his 2001.

This was the year that he released his hit single titled Put That Woman First and became one of the most popular RNB artists in the world. He has sold millions of records around the world according to Billboard Charts available via their website at Billboards.com. Since I have been a fan for almost nine years now I decided to pre order his upcoming album titled Another Round at my local Target. I thought it would be a good idea to listen to the CD before it arrives in stores to see if the album was worth the money.

Another Round is an album that includes 13 tracks in total and the length is about 49 from start to finish. This may seem like a short amount of time but I personally found the material to be a decent length. The entire album is performed by Jaheim and the only guest appearance is by Jadakiss. The best tracks on the CD are Bed Is Listening, Otha Half, and In My Hands. I think this CD offers plenty to listen to for any Jaheim fan and the typical fan will find a lot of replay value on this release. If you enjoy this CD you will also enjoy music by Corinne Bailey, Leela James and Anthony Hamilton. I would say that this CD is well worth the $10 that I spent on the album. I was a bit bothered by the repetitive lyrics about relationship so I rate this CD 3/5 overall.

I agree with your review. This cd reminded me of the old Jaheim really showcasing his soulful voice on the slow tracks. I am glad he did not go "collab crazy" on this album. Yes, a true Jaheim fan will enjoy. And I am also feeling the new Corinne Bailey Rae!
