Sneak Peek Album Review of Labour of Love IV by UB40

Rich Jones
We live in a world today where almost every musical art makes love songs every now and then. The reason that this is so is because of the success of the group UB40 and their love records. This was one of the first groups to use the expression of love and place it in a musical form according to their website. They have been making music since 1978 and recorded one of the most successful records of all time according to Billboard Charts available via their website at Billboards.com. Almost everyone has heard their smash hits such as Can't Help Falling In Love and I Got You Babe. They are easily the most famous Reggae group in the world today in my opinion. Since I have been a fan of them for over 15 years I decided to pre order their upcoming album titled Labour Of Love IV via Amazon.

I thought it would be a good idea to listen to the CD via Youtube before it arrives in stores. Their previous CD was titled Labour of Love III and was released in 1988. It was probably one of the best Reggae releases that I have ever heard. I was very excited for the release of Labour Of Love IV because Valentines Day will be here soon and I would like to give this as a gift. The CD includes 14 tracks and the length is about 51 minutes from start to finish. Although I would have liked a longer CD length I am happy with the material on this CD. UB40 has recorded some of the best love songs ever and I find there is plenty of great material on this CD also.

The best tracks are Close To Me, A Love I Can Feel, You're Gonna Need Me, and Tracks Of My Tears. I love these songs because they are great for relationships and they have the same smooth and careless appeal that their earlier hits did. This CD is filled with great love songs and I can tell you UB40 is in great form on this CD. I did not enjoy tracks such as Get Along Without You Now because they take away from the theme of the CD. I like that they are not afraid to try something new and these songs make the CD worth the money. I would rate this CD 3/5 because of the great material on this upcoming release. If you like music by this group you will also enjoy The Wailers, Ali Campbell, and John Mellencamp.
