This is a sneak peek review of Shaun the Sheep: Spring Shenanigans. It's from Lionsgate and HiT Entertainment and due to hit retail outlets like Amazon.com on January 25, 2010. I was provided a review copy of this product, but was under no obligation to recommend it. My observations are my own.

Synopsis

Seven episodes make up this video which features more mayhem via the bratty farm animals. The first episode, "Spring Lamb," sees Timmy do his very best to avoid getting a bath, which he needs because he's really smelly. In "Supersize Timmy," the little lamb turns into a giant after eating a tomato treated with plant food, and wreaks havoc in the same spirit as King Kong. "Bagpipe Buddy" features the sheep and Bitzer interact with a tossed-out bagpipe, which they treat like a bird that makes sounds unique to them. The fourth episode in this Shaun the Sheep DVD, "Cheetah Cheater", sees the Farmer's cat Pidsley terrorize the sheep after viewing a TV show about a real cheetah in the wild.

The fifth episode, "Lock Out", concerns the sheep doing their best to get the Farmer back into his house after they find him sleeping with them after he locks himself out. The Farmer gets hold of a line-painting machine, which the sheep then get possession of to create lots of havoc around the farm in "Draw the Line." The final episode of this DVD sees the Farmer run amok around his property after he loses his glasses in "Ewe've Been Framed." The bonus features in the Shaun the Sheep video include a Timmy Time episode called "Timmy's Plane", where the lamb has trouble in art class. Also included is a sheep shearing game and a short music video from the Timmy Time characters.

More about the New Release DVD Shaun the Sheep: Spring Shenanigans

I strongly recommend this video because the creators of this show really know how to come up with unique stories around the farm, ones that fans of this animated series like me watch with anticipation and get plenty of chuckles from. As bratty as the farm animals are, they all are very creative and have good hearts. The Suggested Retail Price of this product is $14.98, and its running time is about 50 minutes.
