Due to Be Released January 4

Roy A. Barnes
This is a sneak peek review of the children's DVD Thomas & Friends: Wobbly Wheels & Whistles. This product is due out from Lionsgate and HiT Entertainment on January 4. I was provided a review copy of the children's DVD, but was under no obligation to recommend Thomas & Friends: Wobbly Wheels & Whistles. My observations are my own.

Synopsis of the Children's DVD Thomas & Friends: Wobbly Wheels & Whistles

In each of the four episodes, the engines on the Island of Sodor try to be really useful but face obstacles. In "Jumping Jobi Wood", Edward and Thomas go to Misty Island to fetch some Jobi logs, but while Edward gets freaked out over the strange ways there, Thomas won't ask the three engines from there (Bash, Dash, Ferdinand) for tips on how to get the cargo. In "Thomas and Scruff", the tank engine thinks that a newly-arrived engine Scruff the Scruncher needs cleaning up before going on garbage detail duty, but Scruff has other ideas. In "Victor Says Yes", the maintenance engine allows too many demands to be put on himself so he can try to please everyone, and ends up only creating chaos. The final episode in this Thomas & Friends children's DVD is "Toby and the Whistling Woods", which sees the older engine Toby commissioned to deliver some coal to a duke and duchess, but he fears going through the Whistling Woods and is too proud to ask younger engines like Thomas for an escort.

Between episodes, Driver Perkins attempts to get things ready for his day at the beach while waiting for a special shipment. The bonus features include a Timmy Time episode called "Timmy's Plane", which sees the lamb from Shaun the Sheep have troubles creating art projects. Some "Steam Team" puzzles are included.

More about the Children's DVD Thomas & Friends: Wobbly Wheels & Whistles

I recommend this video because through the episodes, children will learn some valuable lessons of how you can't worry about pleasing everybody if it means overextending oneself and to not be afraid or too proud to ask for help. One can listen to this children's DVD in English, Spanish, or French. The combined running time for the DVDs is about 48 minutes. The Suggested Retail Price is $14.98. You can purchase this product via retail outlets, including Amazon.com, beginning January 4. For more information about Thomas & Friends, go to the official website
