Due to Be Released October 12

This is a sneak peek review of the children's Christmas-themed DVD Angelina Ballerina: The Nutcracker Sweet. It's from Lionsgate and HiT Entertainment and is due out on October 12. I was provided this children's Christmas-themed DVD for review, but was under no obligation to recommend Angelina Ballerina: The Nutcracker Sweet. My observations are my own.

Synopsis of the Children's Christmas-Themed DVD Angelina Ballerina: The Nutcracker Sweet

Five episodes make up this video (including two Christmas-themed vignettes), starring the dancing mouse and her fellow artistic students at the Camembert Academy of Performing Arts. The first episode, "Angelina and the Front Row Ticket", sees the mouse get herself into a jam when she invites two of her friends to see The Nutcracker, for only one extra ticket is available. In "Angelina's Holiday Treat", Angelina and Marco eat too many Christmastime goodies before their performance, which affects how they feel and ultimately perform. Alice goes overboard in trying to imitate her gymnast idol Mousikova, which affects her studies in "Angelina and Alice Mousikova." The gang of mice sees all their efforts for a surprise party for their favorite teacher initially turn out negatively, including damage to a homemade pair of ballet tutus, in "Angelina's Gift for Ms. Mimi." The final episode in this children's Christmas-themed DVD is called "Angelina Keeps the Peace", which sees the main character have to figure out a way to end the rifts amongst her fellow performing partners because they can't agree on a routine.

For children who are into artistically expressing themselves, this animated series is definitely appropriate to watch. Good morals come out of these shows, especially in learning to appreciate the artistic gifts of others as well as practicing teamwork skills. So I recommend this video, which runs just over an hour at 61 minutes.

The bonus features include some "Prima Ballerina" puzzles, where kids digitally put together some puzzles. Additionally, there's a karaoke music video called "Front Row Seats." Angelina Ballerina: The Nutcracker Sweet is due for release to retail outlets like Amazon.com on October 12, and has a Suggested Retail Price of $14.98. One can listen to this product in English, Spanish, and French. For more information about Angelina Ballerina, go to the mouse's website here.
