Sneak Peek Review of the Children's DVD Barney: Shapes & Colors All Around
Due February 8 from Lionsgate and HiT Entertainment
Synopsis of the Children's DVD Barney: Shapes & Colors All Around
Two episodes make up this video that focus on shapes and colors of everyday objects. First, in "Squares, Squares Everywhere," Barney and the gang of kids along with BJ and Baby Bop help a boy with his workbook project that requires him to look, find, and draw squares. All around the park and the caboose, the cast sings about and dances in honor of primarily four-sided objects that are square. The ideas of squares continue to the carry the storyline as things made of squares like robots get attention, as well as activities like square dancing and eating a square meal full of foods made up of different shapes like triangular-shaped sandwiches plus watermelon slices and circular snacks like donuts.
The second episode, "A Wonderful World of Colors and Shapes," is more focused on the colors of things, but once again, the shapes of things play an important role. BJ and Baby Bop even squabble over separating objects according to color and shape until Barney mediates the dispute. Art projects are made full of different shapes and colors. Colors are mixed together during a music video vignette. The bonus features of this children's DVD include a read-along to "Color Train."
