Sneak Peek Review of the Children's DVD Angelina Ballerina: Ballet Dreams
Due for Release on March 1, 2011
Synopsis and Review of the Children's DVD Angelina Ballerina: Ballet Dreams
Five episodes make up this video about the dancing mouse, her family and classmates. The first episode, "Angelina's New Home," sees the aspiring ballerina cope with living in a new home and preparing for her first days at Camembert Academy, which she schemes to get out of going to. In "Angelina's New Ballet Teacher," Miss Mimi's style and methods of teaching don't initially set well with the student mouse. The next episode in this children's DVD, "Angelina En Pointe," sees Marco struggle to learn an instrument he wasn't supposed to get in the first place while Angelina struggles at practice for upcoming auditions. The ballerina dreams of opening a new dance academy and acts as if she's got one by attempting to teach her sister Polly how to dance in "Angelina's Ballet School," even as little sis tries her patience. The final episode, "Angelina's and the New Music Store," sees the mouse's family and classmates try to hold a party for dad's new music store, but the sick neighbor wants the music festivities to be silenced. The bonus feature includes an interactive game called "Create Your Own Dream Routine," which involves making space in the house to dance along with the animated mouse.
The dancing mouse learns a lot in the following five episodes. She has a tendency to be a bit haughty and insecure, but is good-natured at heart and eventually learns to adapt to change and think of other people. So the good morals and values taught in this animated DVD are something I recommend, though little girls are going to be more apt to enjoy and relate to this video compared to boys generally.
The running time for this children's DVD is about 61 minutes and can be heard in English, Spanish, and French. Angelina Ballerina: Ballet Dreams is due for release to retail outlets like Amazon.com on March 1. For more information about this series, go to this website.
I was provided a copy of this children's DVD, but wasn't required to recommend it. My observations are my own.
