Sneak Peek Review of the Children's DVD Barney: Mother Goose Collection
Available March 15 from Lionsgate and HiT Entertainment
Synopsis and Review of the Children's DVD Barney: Mother Goose Collection
A little girl named Emily is having trouble crafting a rhyme of her own, so Barney enlists the help of Mother Goose, the other kids, BJ and Baby Bop to help her get inspired. Led by Mother Goose, the cast is taken on a journey around the park and Mother Goose's own home to show Emily and the others how her own surroundings, including animals, neighbors, and household items, can inspire anyone to write their own rhymes. Scores of Mother Goose rhymes are re-enacted via song and dance with costuming. Viewers will see such rhymes come alive like "Mary, Mary, Quite Contrary," "Little Miss Muffet," "Peter Piper," "Peter, Peter, Pumpkin Eater," "Humpty Dumpty," and a lot more.
The bonus features in Barney: Mother Goose Collection include 15 sing-along plus 17 rhyme-along short videos (split up from the feature showing). The cast of Barney & Friends is shown performing live on stage. An accompanying CD contains five nursery-rhyme-inspired tunes. An activity and coloring book featuring Barney and Baby Bop is included with the DVD, spanning 64 pages and is about the size of the DVD case in height and width.
This children's DVD is a great way to introduce young kids to the world of nursery rhymes, and also teaches that one can be inspired to write just by observing the world around you. So I recommend this video.

Post a CommentOh that Barney, good review Roy.
I agree with Michele. The Mother Goose stories are some of the most classic. This DVD will certainly teach children about rhyming, reading, dancing and singing. I actually want to get this one for my granddaughter.
Roy, nothing beats the Mother Goose stories :) Adding the beloved Barney to the mix had to be great :) cheers
