This is a sneak peek review of the children's DVD Barney: I Can Do It. This product comes from Lionsgate and HiT Entertainment and is due for release on May 17. I was provided a review copy of this product, but was under no obligation to recommend it. My observations are my own.

Synopsis of the Children's DVD Barney: I Can Do It

Two girls are in the park blowing bubbles when Barney appears. They begin talking about getting bigger, and BJ, who has appeared with them, begins to feel bad because he hasn't had any visible evidence of growing lately. So Barney shares with him the story of "Pandora's Box" (acted out in the park with the cast) to teach him that he needs to be patient about growing up, and also not open up boxes one isn't supposed to. Barney and BJ then recall how Baby Bop had troubles learning new things like a clapping song, juggling, and using a hula hoop, but how she did learn to appreciate what she could do in her present age. Finally, Barney helps BJ recall the day in the park when there was an "I Can Do" show with all the kids showing off what they could do as they learned to keep on trying, even though at first, those activities seemed impossible to ever learn to do well.

The bonus features include a counting game with BJ as well as a "Peek-a-Boo" game with Baby Bop.

More about the Children's DVD Barney: I Can Do It

Once again, some great morals for little children are featured in this video about coming to terms with growing up through dance and song, helping them to appreciate being content about where they are now in life, rather than worrying about getting big so fast; and thus, I recommend this Barney DVD.

This video can be heard in both English and Spanish and runs about 58 minutes in length. The children's DVD has a Suggested Retail Price of $14.98. Barney: I Can Do It will be available at retail outlets like Amazon.com on May 17. For more information about Barney, go to the dinosaur's website here

Sweet. How can you go wrong with a character that is always happy and teaches children about good morals? Great review Roy.
