Sneak Peek Review of the Children's DVD Bob the Builder: The Big Dino Dig Movie
Due to Be Released June 14
Synopsis and Review of the Children's DVD Bob the Builder: The Big Dino Dig Movie
The construction crew including Bob, Wendy, Scratch, Scoop, Muck, Rolly, Rubble and more is given the massive task of building a theme park full of kids rides. While digging out the area of hills, an intact dinosaur skeleton is found, just the beginning of the intact dinosaur skeletons that are discovered through excavation of the digging machines and subsequently identified via Spud's dinosaur book. These findings are used to help make the theme park dinosaur-themed, but with each project of rides that is undertaken, mini sub-plots are played out; for instance, the little digging machine Scratch keeps hoping he will discover some bones; Lofty, a crane, tries to be part of the club he thinks the digging machines have; Rolly, a roller, struggles to flatten a piece of earth, and tries to hide it from the others; and Muck is too proud to ask for help removing what he thinks are rocks, which almost leads to disaster.
There are several breaks in this children's DVD film, where Scratch discusses each dinosaur find, such as that of the T-Rex, pterodactyl, triceratops, etc.
I recommend Bob the Builder: The Big Dino Dig Movie for a variety of reasons. The pacing of the story is really nice, as the hour goes by really fast, so there's no boredom. Children who love dinosaurs will enjoy seeing Bob the Builder tackle this subject matter. And of course, there are some essential life lessons that the construction equipment learns on this project, such as to listen, don't be in a hurry, don't hide the truth nor be afraid to ask for help, and to get your work done before playing.
The running time for this children's DVD is about 61 minutes and can be heard in both English and Spanish languages. Bob the Builder: The Big Dino Dig Movie is due for release to retail outlets like Amazon.com on June 14 and its Suggested Retail Price is $9.98. I was provided a review copy of this children's DVD but was under no obligation to recommend it. My observations are my own.
